Relationships¶
An important component of system modeling is capturing relationships between pieces of equipment. For instance, a user may wish to model which air handlers feed particular zones, or which pump supplies which chillers. Modeling this in a "bottom up" way; eg by extracting the relationships from data available in the control system is generally difficult, since most control systems do not themselves model or expose this information. Determining these relationships often requires consulting engineering drawings, or conducting experiments to allow one to infer these relationships from the data.
Which relationships a piece of equipment may have are determined by the ontology, and cannot be edited.
In order to add a relationship between two pieces of equipment, open the "source" equipment in the Equipment Schedule. In the appropriate relationship column, select "add relation" and find the target piece of equipment in the list.
